The Political Literatures Merged With Artistry--Restudy On The Chinese Rural Excellent Novels In The 1950's And 1960's

Chinese rural novels in the 1950's and 1960's assumed a splendid aspect. Among these novels many excellent works emerged, such as 《SAN LI BAY》,《THE GREAT CHANG OF COUNTRIES》,《 THE HISTORY OF POINEEYINGWORK》and so on. One of the most important Characters of this type of novels was political. During this new era, people have put forward all kinds of opinions about the novels' political character, some praising, some depreciating. The opinions are involved in whether these rural novels must describe politics or not. Political Criterion can be used as the first way to judge the novels. In this article, I think the only way people use to judge works between good and bad is historical - aesthetic criterion. Only by this way can we reach a reasonable judgment on these political novels.In this article, I analyze some of excellent political works involved in Chinese rural novels,which merged with art through macroscopic and microcosmic way. At first I analyze social backgrounds, the trends in politics, art and literature of in the 1950's and 1960's, and explain the reasonable existence and artistry, limitations showed in these novels. Then I choose some excellent rural works published in the 1950 's and 1960's by micro cosmic means to analyze their political contents , artistic style, the intentions of writers, the imitations of novels and some social backgrounds and so on. Because these excellent works really reflect our rural life in some way, reply our party policies immediately, and have profound influences on our rural development in politics and economy. In the meantime, because of the age's limitation, these rural works inevitably were effected by age epidemics. And produced a lot of shortcomings. But these shortcomings don't threaten these works, nor they can deny excellent rural novel's values at all. From them we can receive cognitive values, enjoy endless aesthetic feelings, and appreciate writers' noble characters. Today they are still art gems in our art hall. As to every value of them, we must cherish. Today, the group of rural novelists is getting steadily smaller , the quantity of rural novels are decreasing. Qualities are turning worse too. The most important political task, which the world of literature and art is facing , is developing advanced cultures. So our rural novelists filled with responsibilities should undertake this heavy task to write novels according to age demands, continually improve artistic skills, write real novels for the peasants, and of the peasants, compose a new chapter to promote the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.
