Sichuan is one of tea birthplaces in China and even in the world. Back in the Western Zhou Dynasty period, Sichuan province had begun to cultivate and produce tea artificially. In Western Han Dynasty period, Sichuan's tea became an important commodity in the market circulation of the material. Tang and Song Dynasties were the peak period of development of Sichuan's tea production with the highest output in China. And then, Ming and Qing witnessed the slow development and gradual reduction of Sichuan tea production; To the Republic of China period, Sichuan's tea production was on the decline; On the eve of foundation of the P.R.C, Sichuan's tea production has been extremely depressed and decreased to the lowest level in the history. After the founding of the P.R.C, the government attached great importance to the restoration of Sichuan's tea production and development work. In the early days of the PRC, in order to restore its tea production, the government has taken a series of measures in the policy, economy and technology to strengthen the political leadership, economic support and technical guidance of Sichuan's tea production. As a result, Sichuan's margin tea, black tea and green tea (in this article it mainly refers to the famous brand of tea) had achieved rapid restoration. To the 1956 Agricultural Cooperative Movement, Sichuan's tea output surpassed the highest level with 16,500,000 kg.
