The Study On Compound Words Of Telescopic Form

We take compound words of telescopic form as the object of this thesis, focusing on several aspects being involved in analyzing and grasping compound words of telescopic form. This thesis analyses the nature, characteristic and classification of these words at first, and inquire into how compound words of telescopic form are used in sentences, that is, develop them from the level of words to the level of sentences. This thesis includes 6 parts:First, make a summary. Leading to the present study of compound words of telescopic form from the present study of word-building of modern Chinese shows that thesis regards Modern Chinese Dictionary as the main language material, and discusses the present study on compound words of telescopic form and the value of the study.Then, probe into nature of compound words of telescopic form. We probe nature of compound words of telescopic form from the logical thinking in word creation, the syllabic characteristics of the words, the semantic relations among morphemes and the Chinese grammatical characteristics etc. Thereby we can conclude that compound words of telescopic form are not formed by solidifying and condensing sentences, but exist objectively at the beginning of word creation.Next, inquire into characteristics of compound words of telescopic form. We use contrast mainly, compares compound words of telescopic form with compound words of paratactic (V1+V2) form, compound words of successive action form and compound words of supplementary (V1+V2) form those all formed by two verb morphemes, thereby we can analyze and induce the characteristics of compound words of telescopic form.Follow that, study classification of compound words of telescopic form. They are all compound words of telescopic form, but are different from one other. This parttakes characteristics of two morphemes as the starting point, takes the characteristics of second-morpheme as the main distinctive, divides compound words of telescopic form into 8 types, and analyses the differences among them.Next, probe into how compound words of telescopic form are used in sentences. Compound words of telescopic form may appear several different situations when they are used in sentences. For example, the double object construction; the sentence-type symbolized by the propositions "about", "by", "for", "to" etc; the telescopic form sentence-type and so on. Besides that, this thesis exerts to probe the causes of different compound words of telescopic form entering different sentence-types, and the differences between compound words of telescopic form and three other kinds of verbs when they are used in sentences.At last, draw a conclusion. Summarize the main contents of study.
