The Art Life Of Yuan Yunfu

Yuan Yunfu is a famous artist and educator in decorative art, craft art and public art fields. He is the funder and advercator in the field of public art in China. In 1949 he left for Hangzhou and entered into the National Art College to study, when he was a 16-year-old youth. Three years later, he became a studnt of central art college in Beijing and graduated in 1954. When the Central Craft Art College was established, he grew up into a teacher. Between the end of 1950s and the beginning of 1960s, he was researching the title of modernization of Chinese traditional drawing. In the time of cultral revolution he kept on drawing and created a lot of works reflecting the rural life and industry. Additionally Yuan Yunfu showed great enthusiasm for the research and creativity of mural. In 1979, the mural BA SHAN SHU SHUI showed in the capital international airport. From then on, public art has been his focus. During the period from 1979 to 2003, YUAN Yunfu's SHUI MO and CAI MO painting is gradually mature. YUAN is also studying on the arts of the embroidery, tapestry, enamel, stone carving, wood carving, paint, metalworking, porcelain ceramics, glasses and many other professional art fields. He makes great contribution to the melt of traditional craft art and the modern space environment. It is the realization of his theory in public art and wide art. His theory works and art experience clearly demonstrate Professor YUAN has acquired brilliant achievements. His art theory, works and thought are prevalent and influential in Chinese ART espacially in public art. The research for YUAN Yunfu will make profounding effects in China art, craft art, public art and the city design extremely.
