A Preliminary Study On Panel Decoration Of Porcelain Of Song And Yuan Dynasty

The object of this research is panel decoration on porcelain of Song and Yuan Dynasty.This paper systematically untangles archaeologycally unearthed porcelain materials of Song and Yuan Dynasty decorated with panel.The classification method is used to classify the porcelain data according to it's glaze color varieties,investigating panel decoration's ornamental characteristics in different periods of time by theory of image,discussing the development of panel decoration on porcelain during Song and Yuan Dynasty,summarizing the evolution of ornamental characteristics of panel decoration,and analyze the influence factors of panel decoration so as to provide reference for the study of panel decoration and porcelain decoration.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter One: introduction.This chapter defines the concept and scope of panel decoration and determines the research object;summarizes the research accomplishment about panel decoration of Song and Yuan Dynasty and explains the reasons for writing and thinking;untangles archaeological discoveries of porcelains with panel decoration of Song and Yuan Dynasty;introduce the research methods and research significance.Chapter Two:The classification of porcelains with panel decoration of Song and Yuan Dynasty.This chapter untangles and classifies porcelains decorated by panel of Song and Yuan Dynasty according to the varieties of porcelain glaze.Porcelains decorated by panel of Song and Yuan Dynasty mainly in white glazed porcelain with black or brown decoration,black or brown glazed porcelain,and for kilns,mainly in Cizhou kiln,Jizhou kiln and Lingwu kiln porcelains.Panel decoration occupies an important position in the system of Xixia porcelain.Chapter Three: The ornamental characteristics of the time of panel decoration on porcelains of Song and Yuan Dynasty.This chapter studys panel decoration forms and decorations of different kilns of Song and Yuan Dynasty.From composition form,shape of light profile,theme decoration,background,decorative collocation five aspects specific analysis of the ornamental characteristics of the time.The ornamental characteristics of the time of panel decoration in different periods when during Song and Yuan Dynasty are obvious.The development of panel decoration on porcelains of Song and Yuan Dynasty is that the true sense of panel decoration appears of Song Dynasty,panel decoration gradually developments in Jin Dynasty,forms and patterns of rich content,in Yuan Dynasty,inherites the basic characteristics of the panel decoration more varieties of porcelain development,gradually enriching and increasing the level of technology.Chapter Four: The related issues discussed.This chapter summarizes the evolution characteristics of panel decoration on porcelains of Song and Yuan Dynasty and trys to analysis the influence factors of the panel decoration.The ceramic technology of porcelains with panel decoration evolved from simple to complex,from single and rough decoration to beautifully rich.The panel decoration form of the Song and Yuan Dynasty is related to the same period of painting,textile,gold and silver,jade,lacquer ware,stone carving art etc.Chapter Five: Conclusion.This chapter summarizes the research contents and achievements of the thesis,and puts forward the limitations and shortcomings.
