The Value Of Naratology Of Mo Yan's Fiction

This thesis intends to conduct a detailed analysis of the narrative style characteristic of MoYan's works. It is found that the writer has discovers that Mo Yan works lies between vanguard and tradition. The thesis falls into two parts:The first part with modern narration of MoYan's novels in two aspects: narration and the talking of poem narration. The former focuses on the narration subjectivity and sensibility of his narrative mode as well as the variety and originality of his narrative construction. The talking of poem narration part expounds such overturning rhetoric as satire and parady. and the rhetoric with morals like imagery, metaphor symbol ,and so on. The narrative vanguard feature in MoYan's novels are embodies a lot in this part such as narrative pattern, narrative construction, rhetoric-statirize ,parady, however, artistic factors like imagery, metaphor, symbol etc. expressing implicit reserves of Chinese Literature still exist.The second part delivers narrative discourses, the absorbing and dwelling on traditional literary materials in MoYan's novels are analysed, and the discourse standpoints that Mo Yan holds are dug out, from the aspects of the themes of his novels like history and fork. As a humanistic intellectual Mo Yan prefers such discourse standpoints as both being bold to shoulder the responsibility and having his own speech, while his personal speech eventually staying at the nongovernmental standpoints in his works.By analysing MoYan's novels, I gradually obtain a distinct expression about it. In the word, MoYan's novels echoes the entanglement between the modern and tradition, either in content or in the form.
