Interaction has two patters, the teacher-student interaction and the student-student interaction. As show in the experiment, classroom interaction plays an important role in improving the proficiency of the students' English level. Additionally, classroom interaction can be regarded as one of the most important standards for the quality of teaching. Recently, English teachers in china realize the importance of the interaction. They rejected the traditional teaching method and try to adopt the communicative method to provided students with more opportunities to interact with others. In my paper, I compare two patterns of the interaction. And from the result, we can see that students seldom interact with others in the teacher-student interactive classrooms. While the other pattern, the student-student interaction, enable the positive interaction and personal development. The main form of the student –student interaction is the collaborative learning, while group work is only one method. The method also fit well with one of the aims of communicative language teaching, which is to develop learners' ability to participate effectively in conversation. The student also had opportunities to practice various social skills as the worked out problems and constructed knowledge in the collaborative learning. In the collaborative learning, the students did not see their teacher as the knowledge transmitter but presented their own ideas and questioned the assumptions presented by the teacher.
