The Dreams of the Red Mansion, the peak of Chinese ancient literature, has long been called the encyclopedia of the feudal society, the panorama of the world and the representative of Chinese culture. Its content is all-embracing and its characters and polts multitudinous. It is really a diamond in the world of letters. How can this novel make such marvelous achievement? How can so many trivial stories walk out in order? Having carried out a detailed analysis on each chapter, we could see that under the loose face of the novel there lies a rigid form: It boasts two story-threads synchronously, which have the refined and the popular worlds alternate their appearances; Meanwhile, it always repeats the same stories for a second time with different characters and lets them corresponding with each other; As for the characterization, the novel is witnessed Pair-going outside and inside: the author creates from different points of views lots of counterparts obverse and reversed, and portrays various characters through the sameness and difference of their behaviors; Meanwhile, the author adopted double-traits principles to the characterization: he added female traits to the males and the male traits the females, which lets his males feminine and females masculine; Concerning the depth of the novel, the plots all comes from the author's family and the Qing royalty.
