Baihu Tongyi (Baihutong) is the book concerning the differences and similarities among interpretations of Wujing presented by Confucian scholars in "White Tiger Temple Syposium " held in 79 A.D.. Baihu Tongyi reflects the strong Confucianism atmosphere in Dong Han period, meanwhile pushing forward the prosperity of Confucianism at that time.Baihu Tongyi held the idea that the reason why Confucius modified "Wujing" was to propagate the concept of "Ren " (benevolence). The concept of Baihu Tongyi inherited the traditional educational idea of Confucianism, and also summarized the educational practice of the tradition of Dong Han period.Emperor Zhangdi, Wei Ying, Shao Xun, Jia Kui, Ban Gu, Ding Hong, Cheng Feng and other scholars attended "White Tiger Temple Syposium". The Confucian scholars were well versed in Confucianism, and carried out the theories that they proposed and propagated.Baihu Tongyi reflected the Confucianism research situation in Dong Han period, and the core concept of it is "Ren"(benevolence).
