It presented the traits of civil society as well as common customs, both of which always intervened and influenced to each other.The paper aims to carry out comparison study between Buddhism sculpture of China Song Dynasty and ancient Greece sculpture from four aspects including the objectives, the methods, the relationship with the environment and the internal beauty ideality. First of all, the article gives a bird's eye view of the social and historical background of the objectives, then analyzed and found that the realism traits of the ancient Greece sculpture oriented from the concept that the god have same shapes and same attributes and the adoration of body beauty as the human being. Secondly, the paper explored the concrete difference and the different keystone of the representation of them. Sculpture of Song Dynasty was influenced deeply by the painting so that it concentrated on the application of lines and the portrayal of the expression. Because in ancient Greece the sculpture influenced the painting, it absolutely differs from Song Dynasty sculpture. The Greece sculpture paid more attention to the application of agglomerates and blocks and conveyed emotion and meanings by the bodies instead of the expressions. Thirdly, regarding the relationship between the sculpture and the environment, Song Dynasty Buddhism sculpture mixed with the nature subtly and technically. On the contrary, the ancient Greece sculpture was melt in the architecture which chased for the internal relations because of the Greek canonized the proportion in philosophy ideas. Finally, concerning the aesthetics ideas, the paper concluded that Song Dynasty paid attention to the good and the beauty so it represents the appetency. And the ancient Greece sculpture took the logos as the beauty, which helped them discovered the golden section.Just from deep comparison and analysis to these two kinds of fine arts realism, the paper shows the most distinct characters of eastern sculpture and western sculpture, their difference and essential content of realism fine art.
