As an individual difference which had effect on the intergroup relationship, collective self-esteem obtain the European and American psychology high opinion since British psychologists proposed Social Identity Theory in 80's and the development of the self theory. The concept of collective self-esteem provided new realm to American psychologists and became a hot issue. With the coming of the globalization era, researchers in our nation start to focus on the culture globalization effect on adolensents'culture identity and ethnic spirits. Ethnic self-esteem is one import aspect of ethnic spirits. Ethnic self-esteem is the special collective self-esteem on the ethnic context and there is lack of the research on it in our nation .The paper aims at exploring the dimensions of ethnic self-esteem and the development in Chinese adolescents.This thesis used questionnaires and conducted from Exploratory Factor Analysis to Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Basis on the literature reviews, internet research as well as the interview, we did the explore factor analysis twice, from which 4 dimensionalities of ethic self-teem were extracted, and then developed the Ethnic Self-esteem Scale.Used the Ethnic Self-esteem Scale and Self-esteem Scale, we investigated 1021 subjects from 8 school in Wuhan including students grade 2 in junior high school, grade 2 in senior high school and grade 2 in college. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis was conducted on the 1021 recalled valid questionnaires, which confirmed 4 dimensionalities.It was found that:(1) Ethnic self-esteem was multi-dimensional, including private evaluation-emotion, common fate, public evaluation-emotion and identity importance evaluation.
