Study On The Psychosocial Factors Of Suicidal Behavior In Suicide Attemptors

Objective: Suicide is a major public health problem in the world. The characteristic of suicide is unique in china. Suicidal behavior is commonly the result of interaction of internal and external factors. It is related with sociology, psychics, ethnics, biology and psychiatry. Though the cause of suicide is complicated, we still should aware that suicide is a preventable public health problem. To provide relevant data for early psychological treatment, in this study the characteristic analysis, the mental health, personality, social support, life events and depression of the suicide attemptors were made in the emergency department of a large general hospital in Xi'an. Methods: â‘ To investigate characteristics of 280 suicide attemptors in the emergency department of a large general hospital in Xi'an. â‘¡280 cases attempated suicide and 280 cases control group were evaluated with self-made completed general questionnaire, Symptom Checklist 90, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire.
