Human Society is going into an era of information. The rapid development of science technology and social economy impose a high requirement on the school education. In the 21th century the talents needed are those who can, after formal schooling, gain knowledge by themselves and/or update their knowledge. In such an era schools must be adapted to this kind of change and face the challenge so that their students will learn how to learn and gain their ever-lasting proficiency. However, many teachers obey the traditional teaching methods. In the military middle school teachers also think they are only the transmitters of knowledge, students receive knowledge passively, depend on teachers, lack autonomy. The test-oriented and teacher-centered teaching can be seen everywhere. The student-centered teaching is not only the demands of quality education but also the demands of new curriculum criterion.According to social constructive theory, the negative situation has been caused by many reasons. But the teacher is a main reason. Because teachers lack reflection on their roles, neglect learning strategies training for students, etc. These problems can be solved by developing teachers' role as mediators, The thesis is based on some questionnaires and interviews I have done in several military middle schools. The purpose of carrying out this research is to offer some ways of fostering learner autonomy.
