According to different cultural backgrounds, the history in which Jin, Ping, Mei areaccepted is divided into four stages. The first stage is the fruitful and colorful accepting phase.By exploring the evaluation and understang of authors of preface and after word, commentators, writers of chapters and dramatists, varity of accepting forms in this period wasreflected. The second stage is about age consciousness and understanding of Jin, Ping, Mei atthe first half of 20th century. A number of advanced intellectuals, who went through baptismof New Cultural Movement, got rid of the traditional moral criticism, subjective and intuitivethinking way and value concept, began to understand Jin, Ping, Mei by using new ageconciousness and value criterion. It reflected variety in thinking way. The third stage is theunderstanding in special political background thirty years after establishment of New China. In this period, because politics interfered with culture and arts, readers' aesthetic right wasdeprived.
