This thesis goes into the singing performance andits practice in the vocal solo. A singing performance functions as one of the crucial elements, which is a contributed tothe evaluation whether the vocal solo is successful or not, good or bad. It is also the main taskof the arts of the vocal solo .The first part of this thesis focuses on the essence and features ofthe singing performance . It holds that a vocalist performs the character and presents thesettings in the music after analyzing the words, tune, subject of the opus and the ages, style,characteristics of the composer and appreciating the feelings involved in the opus, which isthe process to change the scores into sounds by the way of singing. At the same time ,thissinging practice is also the continuity of the logic turning the spiritual mater into physicalform. That is to say, a singing performance is the progress to make the scores that convey thecomposer's spirit and supplies the audience with the internal hearing the substantial andmaterial exhibition through the practice of the singing performance and some main principle. The practice of the singing performance is elaborated in the second art of the thesis. Thispart lays stress on the conclusion that vocalists should possess a comprehensive qualityincluding better making, knowledgeable ideas, and higher culture standard and obtain directlyor indirectly rich life experiences through singing practice and explore deeply the infinitespace of inditement, which is the decisive factor in the success of the singing performance. Inaddition, this part affirm the significance of establishing and cultivating the appropriate tastefor the vocal arts in the singing performance. All the tastes are classified into four sorts: thetaste for voices, the taste for the feeling of music, the taste for emotions and the taste forfigure. At last, this part explores the ways of dealing with the production without changing itsoriginality or its style and different methods of treating different products in different ages orstyles. This thesis aims at making clear the important position and function in the singingperformance, recognizing the specialties of the performance and practicing various skills,techniques and methods to performance by using the methods of induction, summarizing,samples of scores and comparison. Thus, not only the opus itself but also the vocalists'superiority in arts and their personal charming are presented to a full extent.
