The Influence Of Belcanto To The Development Of China's Modern Traditional Vocality.

Since the introduction of western vocality into China in last 20's, a question of"transforming it into our own"has been circling around. There is a rich history of art of traditional China's vocality, from the mainstream of opera to the form of musical lecture in the class of western music, to the communications and development of Belcanto in China, which has gradually changed the old habit of taste that brought out the argue of"tradition"and"modern". On the traditional side, western vocality would bring the traditional vocality to the end, and carry on the responsibility of safeguarding the national essence. On the modern side, western vocality can infuse new breath into the traditional vocality, which is a unique scientific technique. The argument of"tradition"and"modern"stagnated the steps of advance of traditional vocality to some extent; however, it is a process of knowing and a principle of development. From 50's to 70's, the ten-year's Cultural Revolution and misunderstandings of cognition hampered the steps of China's traditional vocality, with the unceasing exploration and research of theories and techniques of western vocailty until the opening-up in the early 80's, the focus has gradually changed to a deeper and more practical aspect, people have an object and deep understanding of western vocality, and have got some fruits. We still have to dig up research and exploration on how to better"transforming it into our own"and promote the development of art of China's traditional vocality. In this thesis, by focusing on"the influence of Belcanto to the development of China's modern traditional vocality", taking a position of how to better present the charming art of modern traditional vocality and joining the scientific methods of phonation of western vocality and language and style of traditional vocality to reach the goal of developing China's modern traditional vocality.
