When I study the subject, I always think the issue in terms of the present history research and also want to probe the future development of history research. During my pursuit of these answers, I take the English romanticism historian Edmund Burke's Reflections on the Revolution in France as the object of my research, which I wish it reach my predicated research goal. I find Burke and French Revolution have the extraordinary perplexing characteristics, which made people love or hate deeply, and which can receive the fame as well as the disgust. The reason is that they are great! My dissertation proceed in a perplexing way from the beginning to the end, just in the perplexing way I feel the start from the heart: on the basis of human kind, Burke was seeking for the primitive state of the spirit of human culture .I think that is the reason his works is brilliant forever. The dissertation can draw a conclusion by means of the analysis of theory and the verdict of history evidence and the historical comparative methods: History is always proceeding in a perplexing way as if it is the life journey. To the human life, the perplexing way is always rounding the primitive and the sound from the heart, and sometimes goes another way; to the history, the perplexing way is always rounding cultural spirit truth and sometimes vibrates. The phenomenon of vibration is the history itself, which is always shifting from scientism to humanism, from rationalism to irrationalism as well as. But the primitive state of the spirit of human culture is the way they must go .At the present the history has the strong influence from the post-modernism thinking, which aim at the truthfulness of history. However, in my opinion, it is normal for the history proceeding in the perplexing way. No matter how the form is, it is only the history works that aim at the primitive state of the spirit of human culture can never wither. Edmund Burke's Reflections on the Revolution in France provide the reference for us.
