"The Stranger" Is Not "the Absurdist"

With an exploring and thinking soul Albert Camus paid attention to human's Existenz. He threw his thought to the terrifying and absentminded age through the work of 'The Stranger' 'The Stranger' purified human's Existenz and made Camus hold an unique position in the France literature even in the world literature. Critical negligence about The Stranger, especially, about the narrow orientation from absurdist perspective from the 50s to 60s of 20th century leads to long-standing prejudice that" the stranger is equal to absurdist". Based on the understanding, the paper will interpret the conception of the stranger by means of existentialist theory, and try to correct the prejudice in the literary world. In fact, The Absurdist' is only a description about life normalcy, that is, the embodiment about Uneigentlichkeit survival manner. Camus' exploring about "how to affront with absurdity" didn't stop on "the absurdist", he had a profound thinking on it, namely, "the stranger's" Eigentlichkeit survival manner. On condition that, "the absurd man's" life is to make the absurdity to be, by protest he made the fate within his mastery. He tried to best shade the possibility about the indispensable death in a passionate way, and veiled the truth of homelessness by lots of things on hand. Then, "the stranger" made use of sight of Zu-sein to Sein Zum Tode continually. He discovered atman in the kinds of possibility of Existenz. He was not satisfied with reality when he was abandoned. Instead, he disregarded all of that and admitted his destiny. At last, "the stranger" transcended Das man in the course of Jeeinigkeit living, transcended absurdity, and discarded the identity of "the absurd man". On the basis of the above analysis, the paper will carry out the discussion on three aspects:The first chapter will expound not only the two different survival manners "the stranger" and "Das man ", but also philosophy commentary of Das man's living manner.The second chapter will analyze different philosophy causes about two different survival manners, the most important of all, expound the Eigentlichkeit survival manner of "the stranger"-Mersault and its realism foundation.The third chapter will explain Das man's character of "the absurdist", i.e., his Uneigentlichkeit survival manner and his behavior. Finally, the paper will educe a conclusion: as far as the survival manner is concerned, "the stranger" doesn't equal to "the absurdist". And, express my intention that will correct "absurd statement".
