A Study Of Solutions To English Vocabulary Learning Problems For Non-English Major Freshmen In Junior Colleges

Vocabulary is the basis of language learning and plays an important role in the development of language competence. Vocabulary knowledge represents the language competence of its user. Vocabulary learning, therefore, is one of the most important tasks in language learning. However, non-English major freshmen in junior colleges have a lot of difficulty in English vocabulary learning. They have a very small vocabulary with low quality. This paper makes a special study of the freshmen's English vocabulary learning so as to find out some solutions to these problems, which can enlarge their vocabulary and improve the quality.The research, based on the vocabulary learning questionnaires, the pre-experiment vocabulary test and the grades of the matriculation test, analyzes the problems the junior college freshmen have in English vocabulary learning.
