On The Relationship Between Chinese Ink And Color Of Gongbi Figure Painting

Chinese Gongbi figure painting can date back to the Qin and Han Dynasty with a history of more than 2000 years. Chinese ink and color , the two main factors of Chinese painting ,always accompany its development. From the two aspects , the evolution of relationship between Chinese ink and color and the techniques and skills of it ,the relationship between Chinese ink and color is discussed in the thesis(â… ) From the religious paintings of Xi yu in the Wei and Jin Dynasty to the "ink and light-orientated" paintings of literati since the Song and Yuan Dynasty till the western oil paintings of occidental missionaries during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. The relationship between Chinese ink and color has got enriched and improved. After the Opium war , with the flood-like introduction of western modern civilization, Chinese Gongbi figure paintings broke traditional stereotype and realize the transition from traditional type to modem one .At present, Chinese Gongbi figure paintings are developing in various ways .As a result, the history of Chinese Gongbi painting is a history of it's use of ink and color, and also a history of it's absorption of alien cultures.(â…¡) As far as the Gongbi painting is concerned, Chinese ink and color is an unalienable body ,the special characteristics of Chinese Gongbi figure painting determine the special use of ink and color . Thus, a harmony relationship between ink and color is very crucial.From the mentioned above, to realize the renaissance of Chinese Gongbi figure painting, we should deal well with the relationship between "tradition" and "modern ", "succession" and "development" on ink and color.
