Jian Deng Xin Hua was the first legendary stories collection inclassical Chinese of Ming Dynasty, and was a masterpiece of the legendarystories of Ming Dynasty too. Its publication made legendary stories inclassical Chinese radiate vigour again, after going through the twodeclines in Song and Yuan Dynasty. It built a transition between thesetwo peaks, from legendary stories of Tang and Song Dynasty to Liao ZhaiZhi Yi of Qing Dynasty, thus had a great influence on novels and operas inthe period of Ming and Qing Dynasty. It occupies the important positionin Chinese novel history and Chinese literature history, has higherresearch value. This thesis tries to research from the four respectsincluding copyright, subject matter source, thought, and art, for thereason that overall research on Jian Deng Xin Hua is insufficient incurrent academic circles.The first chapter differentiates and analyses the copyright questionof Jian Deng Xin Hua, pointing out contradictions of View of Yang Weizhen,View of Lu Jinghui and View of Collection by several writers, confirmsthat Qu You copyright is the writer of Jian Deng Xin Hua further.This thesis analyses subject matter source of Jian Deng Xin Hua,focusing on the five respects, which are strange stories during SixDynasty period, legendary stories of Tang and Song Dynasty, scripts forstory-telling of Song and Yuan Dynasty, rumor incidents of the past agesand Qu You's poems. And the analysis proves that Jian Deng Xin Hua hasdrawn previous literature experience and made further development.Jian Deng Xin Hua has deep thought contents, such as its satirizingreality, reflecting joys and sorrows of love or marriage, religiousfactoring, common customs of inclined toing etc.The realistic characteristics of Jian Deng Xin Hua are strong. Itdescribed disaster, atoned chaos caused by war, jeered at realityingeniously, announced darkness of society, castigated ethical decay,resided the intellectual's psychology and returned to the tradition oflegendary stories in Tang Dynasty. Jian Deng Xin Hua, different from legendary stories in Tang Dynasty,reflected the intellectual's existence and mind experience in later YuanDynasty and earlier Ming Dynasty and expressed Qu You's personalexperience. Jian Deng Xin Hua also reflected the separation and reunion ofyoung men and women's love and marriage. Its love tragedy with socialturmoil of background,had new characteristic of tragic protagonist,tragic reason and final final result ,which was different from woman'stragedies caused by the marriage system of Tang Dynasty.Confucianism andBuddhism and Taoism affected Jian Deng Xin Hua deeply, reflecting theviews of ghosts and gods of the Confucianists, playing up Buddhism andTaoism environment, portraying Buddhism and Taoism personage, andappearing phenomenons mixed by Confucianism and Buddha. Confucianism andBuddhism and Taoism said cause and effect, embodying novelist's advisingand punishing of creation purpose.The classical Chinese novel presentedthe obvious popularized phenomenon in Song Dynasty, especially SouthernSong Dynasty. The popularization caused the trends of meeting betweenscholar's classical Chinese novel and citizen's script for story tellingto a certain degree. Jian Deng Xin Hua marked new legendary noumenonn anddemonstrated distinct common customs inclination. Jian Deng Xin Hua reviseses its artistic characteristics in personageimage, psychology description and dreamlike tactics, signify connotationand language.
