Li Yi's Poetry And The Poetry Circles Of The Mid-Tang Dynasty

The Mid-Tang Dynasty was a hopefull and resisting era coexisting withhelpless and disappointment. History of poetry of the Mid-Tang Dynastypassed by one rising but winding road where the climax obviously glidedfinally. Li Yi was an important poet who had a long life and heavyachievement on poetry writing. His poetry creation went through onechanging course of parabola type from Dali period to Yuanhe period too.The mutual relation between Poet individual and poetry circles is onesubject that is well worth studying. To study the mutual relation betweenLi Yi'poetry and the poetry circles of the Mid-Tang Dynasty ,the poetryhistory of Mid-Tang Dynasty is divided into three periods:Daliperiod ,Zhenyuan period and Yuanhe period in this thesis.The mutual relation between Li yi'poetry and the poetry circles ofthe Mid-Tang Dynasty demonstrated an obvious changing stage. During Daliperiod, the poem works of fine beautiful style and sad mood took heavyproportion mostly. This period is the growth stage of Li Yi'poetry creation.His poems about friendly intercourse and biding farewell embodiedobviously the sad and delicate impression of the era.His poems aboutmountains and rivers and the ones about ideals expression showed romanticunrestrained youth bosom heartily. Compared with such distinguishedpersonages as " Ten gifted scholars " etc.he was just a unhonored youngergeneration. Neither he could go through the poetry circles nor did hewanted to enter the circles of the people.
