An error can be defined as a deviation from the norms of the target language. It takes place when deviation arises as a result of lack of knowledge. It represents a lack of competence. Error Analysis (EA) is one of the method used to investigate into the learner's language, it achieved considerable popularity in the 1970s. The process of EA is as follows: identification of errors, description of errors, explanation of errors and evaluation of errors. From different angles, errors can be divided into several categories. The major sources of error have been identified as inter-lingual language transfer, intra-lingual transfer, context of learning and communication strategies. One of the purposes for describing error is for error correction. There are different views on error correction, such as whether to correct errors, how to correct errors, etc. hi Chapter One, the author gives an account of the current state on error and error correction research. And she states her own opinions on error correction, that is, error correction is necessary and advisable. There are many error correction methods. What will be the more effective one in practical teaching? First, teachers should know about their students, then they will find a suitable error correction method. In Chapter Two, the author analyzes the common errors that her students often make, and puts forward two different teaching methods for error correction. In Chapter Three, after a term experiment on the two error correction methods in two parallel classes, the author finds that an integrated error correction technique is more effective than other methods. She also deals with the probable reasons why it is better.By discussing error correction in the course of teaching, the author comes up with some implications for FLT. For example, it can increase students' input.including giving them patterns to recite, reading a lot, paying more attention to the usage of frequently used words, and grammar, etc. The author also mentions some factors, which influence the correction teaching, and the weakness of the experiment.
