Origin And Misunderstanding

Based on the origins of construction, which have been cleared up and summed up, this thesis compares the origins, developments, variations and influences of construction and analyzes the different developing status in Russian, Germany, Japan and China. After that it presents a situation of construction nowadays and attempts to clear some misunderstanding, so as to approach it's original concepts as precise as possible. By analyzing the development of construction we can conclude that the word "construct"could be a definition of an action with piling up elements of objects in space, and the word "construction"could be a definition of a manner of form making with piling up elements of objects in space. Constructions without practical function were born in constructivism, as a manner of form making which were applied into design through Bauhaus and have made great influences all over the world as one of the basic characteristics of modern design in the 20th century. Since there are more misunderstanding about construction in Japan and China, so to clear the history and origins of construction will possess more real values and significances to Chinese design education today.
