The Idea And Characteristic Of "Protectionism" In The Modern Korea

With the western capitalism force filtering and the Popery traveling, there was a new revelation to be given in the modern Korea where Korea only believed in the Confucianism of the Korean ideology in five hundred years. Facing all kinds of new thoughts, the Korean Confucian scholars created the big though of "Protectionism". With the changing of the background of inland and international, the idea of "Protectionism" was beginning to change. As the expressional form of Confucianism, it has very deeply influence for the Korean and the modernization of Korea to struggle for the invasion.This paper answers the following questions: first, the course of idea of "Protectionism"; second, the characteristic of "Protectionism" in the different period.This paper is divided into three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion.The first part introduces the trends, purposes, significance, scope, the methods of the study.The first chapter mainly expounded the course of Zhuzi Theory in Korea. This course states that Zhuzi Theory which developed in about five hundred years and was consolidated in the end was the basis of the idea of "Protectionism" in Korea. With the developing of the Korean Zhuzi Theory in the own, there was a very serious trend to excluding the different culture. In the new thought, the trend of Zhuzi Theory required that the modern idea of "Protectionism" came back again. In the other hand, the chapter states the characteristic of "Protectionism" in the exclusion of foreigners period.The second chapter, firstly, mainly states that the "Opening up" and the form of Enlightenment Thought of Korea gave the influence to the modern society of Korea. Secondly, the chapter states the characteristic of "Protectionism" in the beginning of "Opening up" period.The third chapter mainly states that the big change of inland and international gave the influence to the Korean thought field in ninths year 19 century. Firstly, the chapter expounded the influence which was from the developing of enlightenment movement and from the idea "Protectionism". Secondly, the chapter states the characteristic of "Protectionism" in an army in the cause of justice movement period.The forth chapter mainly states that the idea "Protectionism" was going to the end in the beginning of twentieth century.The last chapter is the conclusion of this paper. It is made in three aspects. Firstly, it states the characteristic of "Protectionism" in the different period. Secondly, it states how to change on the idea "Protectionism". Lastly, it states the historic effect and historic significance in the modernization of Korea.
