| Consciousness of living is the core issue of the man's outlook toward life. Consciousnessof living consists of two parts: the value of the life noumenon and the value of life. Theformer refers to the awareness of the nature of the life itself, and it can be divided as rationaland non-rational ones. It belongs to the category of rational value of life if the material natureof life can be sensed and natural death is considerated,. The value of life refers to theindividual life that functions for itself and in the social community, and it always based on thethoughts of noumnenonal life. The Confucian value of life is more rational and ethical, and itemphasizes on the living beings and mourns for death as well as relating the living and deathclosingly. It values the individual intergration and contribution towards group on the terms ofthe value of life.Lu Ji, a man of letter in Xi Jin dynasity, displays the tradition topic of "life"in manyof his works through his own unique life experience. Due to the profound influence of theConfucians, his perception of life tends to be rational and his outlook for value is moresubject to the value of life in a ethical group advocated by confucists and has strong spirit ofjoining into the society.The paper aims to explore the poetries written by Lu Ji from the perspective of the noumenonof life and the value of life. The paper can be divided into four parts: the first part deals withthe biographical story of Lu Ji'and his main thoughts; the second will analyzing theConfucian value of life; the part three will disscuss the noumenon of life from three aspects:that is, the awareness of space, the awareness of time and the outlook to death; the last partwill interpret the outlook for life value from the eternity perspectives of cultivating moral,training speech and commiting achivement.
