This article, basing on abundant historical materials of home and abroad, discusses the transitional course of Kirgiz's society with the using of society-transition theory in sociology and analyzes the function of this social transition in the developing history of Kirgiz's society. This article mainly discusses the theme in following three aspects: the first, Kirgiz society before the transition. This part has discussed in detail on social structure,economical existence and cultural life. The second, the course of Russia's conquering the Kirgiz area and its establishment of rule-system. During the conquering of Kirgiz area, Russia actualized its administrational institution which was the same as mainland rapidly here, and emigrated a large number of Russians to this area at the same time, and gradually established a series of economical system,religion system and educational system on this land. The third, the transition of Kirgiz's society. Under the force of Russia, grand changes took place in Kirgiz society's clan-tribe ,economical foundation and national distributing. Merchandise-economy and capitalism developed in Kirgiz's society step by step, the educational level of Kirgiz nationality was enhanced gradually, and meanwhile, Russian's progressive culture and the conception of revolution democracy also had given optimistic influences on Kirgiz's social conception. But this social transition of Kirgiz nationality was carried out by Russia's force, with too much Russian influence. Kirgiz people paid too much for this transition and it brought many disadvantageous elements to Kirgiz's social development.
