Large-scale televised documentary films is the huge creation in documentary films, with profound historrical value , cultural value and aesthetic value, which can mostly represent productive strength of TV station and comprehensive cultural level. Creation of large-scale documentary films is brilliant in 1980s and 1990s,but in recent years, it is difficult to see the shocking , far-reaching works. As a kind of artistic phenomenon, the creation of the large-scale documentary film has certain laws. It's appearance is on the background of times and is the requirement of certain history period. This thesis attempts to stand in the height of times, making systematic, essential summary to the creation characteristics of large-scale documentary films, and carefully combing reason of such characteristic, to expect to offer inspiration and attention to the creator, and promote creation practice of today.
