D·H·Lawrence is one of the most important novelist in the British literary history. There are deep connections between various kinds of ideological schools of modernist literature and him. The Primitivism has risen at the turn of the century, it's important characteristic is to explore mythology energetically. There are a large number of mythical factor and composition in Lawrence's creation, this text has regarded mythology as the clue and regarded "The rainbow " as samples and has analyzed Lawrence's concepts and methods especially. The text divides into three parts mainly: The first part summarizes the common characteristic of modernism and its general inclination, and defines the concepts of modernism and its stages.
