The Study Of Fuzhou Christian Women During The Minguo Period (1912～1949)

The Chinese Christian women group, which used to be ignored, is an important part in the history of China Christian study. This article focuses on the Christian women group in Fuzhou during the Minguo Period(1912~1949). Applying the historical and sociological methods, the article makes a study on the Christian women from both macroscopic and microcosmic angles. The article thoroughly analyzes the development trend, gradation, organization and marital status of Christian women group in Fuzhou under the turbulent social environment during the Minguo Period, moreover, it inquires deeply the relationship between the Christian women group and the Christian church to which they belong and the social institutions under the church. The article reappears the life view of Chinese Christian women during the Minguo Period, and intends to point out the significant value and positive function of the Christian women group in the course of the development of the Christian church in Fuzhou and the improvement of Minguo society.
