Though there exists slight difference in the name, they fall into the same kind of drawing in their essence. The Chinese "Paintings of Beautiful Ladies" originated in the Dynasty of War States, prospered in the Dynasties of Tang and Song and declined in the Dynasties of Ming and Qing. The Japanese "Paintings of Beauties" was born from the "Paintings of Beautiful Ladies" in the Dynasty of Tang and has long been influenced and developed by the Chinese artistic style. Without Chinese "Paintings of Beautiful Ladies", there would have been a quite different visage, even such a kind called "the Japanese Ukiyo-e painting of Beautiful Women" with typical Japanese characteristics. However, through the buckish appearance, we can still observe the traces of the influences from the Chinese paintings in their internality.
