The present research focuses on the distribution of conjuncts used by Chinese EFL learners. This research is corpus based. A computer program was compiled for the data collection and processing. The ST3 of CLEC was used as the source of data.In this research, through comparing the data collected from ST3 and Brown A and B, we discovered that there is a significant difference between Chinese EFL learners and the English native speakers in using conjuncts. The conjuncts used in ST3 were focused on a few high frequency conjuncts which account for nearly 80% of the whole conjuncts used in ST3. There are underused conjuncts in comparison with the native speakers. There is no conjunct occurring in the medial position in ST3.The differences in the use of conjuncts between Chinese EFL learners and the English native speakers can be attributed to the mother tongue transfer, inadequate knowledge on the use of conjuncts.
