The religion has the intimate relationship with the Chinese culture; Chinese ancient traditional operas, as a section of the culture, certainly are locked together with the religion. The Chinese traditional operas have really become mature during Ming and Qing Dynasty. But with a variety of changes of the eras' background, social life and cultural ideological trend, the religion displayed in the traditional opera has been "deteriorating "secretly, and it presents the features that are different from the past Generally speaking, depicting the monk's life condition in literature works and on the traditional opera arena is most constantly arised and it also has the most actual sense, and it is a good way of embodying religion. In order to stress the attribute of the monks in Ming and Qing's traditional operas better, the article takes the two kinds of representative literature types in Tang Dynasty's story and flourishing in the Yuan Dynasty as the instance and compares them. Finally by investigating the tendency of the monk's common customs in Ming and Qing Dynasty's traditional opera, try to find out the religion situation and its relationship with the actual life. The article begins with two respects of external and internal causes, and analyses the distinctive r literature appearance's religion background, social background, culture background and the attribute of traditional opera art in itself, trying to find the historicalculture sense contained in it.
