This thesis analyzes the heroine images in heroic and chivalrous novels of Ming & Qing Dynasties, using insights from texts, writers' production and readers' reception. Compared with other traditional female images , heroine images shows special behaviors and unique dispositions, which are based on the real female politicians and heroines in history. As for writers, on one hand, they sculpture heroine images to add the legendary flavor to the novels to meet readers' demands of appreciation for eccentric persons and strange affairs, on another hand they uses heroines to balance the structure of novels, to set off male heroes and propagate male authority consciousness. Meanwhile, the readers who consist of the common people mainly result in the heroine images with so strong common people's flavor to be the ideal females of the common people.
