In the consumption society, the capital drift the masses into the war of consumption active, switch the purpose of consumption to consumption value from function, and create an infinite market in the limited consumption colony. It is capital who established the consumption value system (CVS), and impacts the consumption action by shaping consumers' value.Consumers achieve their personal value;taste and other experience through consume value symbols. The capital who controls the market, creates consuming demand by manipulate the consumption value. CVS develops consumption concept, controls consumption behavior, advocate consumption culture, which individual ideal and emotion all involved.The key of product design was transferred to consumption value from function. Consumption values, which product design involved, include three types. Type of functionality, which leading people judge the quality of consumable;type of social, which help to advance consumers' social status;type of mental, which help to realize consumers' aesthetic taste, humanity solicitude, enjoyment, and others experience.In the consumption society today, the appearances even the relevant function all act as the consumption value of products. The product design disconnects from making the key in function and aesthetic intention, but pays more attention on consumption value, which contains all above.In consumer society, sense of technology which product design involved in is a kind of consumption value. It starts from the research on consumption value , then study the appearance, development and evolvement of sense of technology, and how it is applied in the electric product design and how the mass media, such as advertisement, impact on the spread of Sense of technology, and how the consumption impact on the product design through the above research.
