As a unique form of art, documentary has kept an exuberant vitality during its one hundred years of development. In the research context of art, philosophy and communication, this thesis firstly offers a creative explanation for the sources of documentary's unique fascination from the prospect of values, and then presents an opening annotation for the ultimate values of documentary in the frame of the system of value, and then gives a deep discussion on the definition, premises, route and function mechanism of the paradigm in upgrading the dominant value. Finally, this paper describes the existed values' diffusion in the whole world and prospects for the reconstruction of new conception of values and the future of communication based on the ultimate values. In all, this article tries to offer a referable and ideal blueprint for the documentary's further development by discussing and explaining the multiple systems of value, the unique way in the upgrading of value and value diffusion in the whole world.
