The eye movements of 60 subject of Grade 2 in junior high school , Grades 1, 3 in senior high school are monitored during they read easy and difficult argumentations. The experimental results are demonstrated as follow:1. There is difference in the comprehension of the different grade middle-school students' reading the same level argumentations. On the easy material, the difference is significant between Grade 2 in junior high school and Gradel in senior high school, between Grade 2 in junior high school and Grade 3 in senior high school. On the difficult material, the difference is significant between Grade 2 in junior high school and Grade3 in senior high school.2. The eye-movement pattern of reading the same level argumentations among different grade students also shows different. (1)Between Grade 2 in junior high school and Gradel in senior high school, the difference in back fixation duration of easy material is significant. (2)Between Grade 2 in junior high school and Grade 3 in senior high school: there are significant differences in forward and back fixation duration, forward saccade amplitude of easy and difficult material;there is significant difference in forward and back fixationduration^ forward saccade amplitude of easy material. (3)Between Grade land Grade 3 in senior high school: there are significant differences in the number of f ixatioru the number of regression^ forward saccade amplitude of easy and difficult material. The differences above show that the reading ability of middle-school students were gradually enhanced with the growth of age.3. There are differences when the students in the same grade comprehend the argumentations of deferent level. However, the difference is significant in Grade 1 senior high school. When the students in the same grade read the deferent level argumentations, their eye-movement patterns are also different. However, the different material has different effect on the eye-movement pattern of the subjects. To the students in Grade2 junior high school, The difficulty has no effect on their eye-movement patterns. It is clear that the students in Grade2 can' change their eye-movement with material different. That is say they can' t command techniqu of reading. To the students in Gradel senior high school, The difficulty has effect on the number of fixation and the number of regression. That is say, more difficult is material, more is the number of fixation and regression. To the students in Grade3 senior high school, Thedifficulty has effect on back saccade amplitude. That is say, more difficult is material, shorter is back saccade amplitude.
