The Chinese traditional drama, as part of Chinese traditional art culture, has a long history. But the birth and development of the Chinese traditional drama can't live without the media. Previously, the communication of drama mainly depends on mouths and ears. The printing made volumes of plays come down to today. The video and audio technologies play an important role in passing on the drama. Nowadays, the internet brings vigor to the communication of drama and the communication of drama itself has gradually entered the era of internet. At present, there're more than 500 drama websites on the internet with various contents and those websites greatly promotes the communication of drama.Because communication of drama in terms of internet is a fledgling business, the author temporarily doesn't define this phenomenon. The thesis tries to study the functions , characteristics of the communication of drama through internet on a communications perspective and review the internal logic and discuss the problems and seek the solutions. Finally the thesis will give a general framework of the communication of drama through internet and predict the future tendency of the above issues.There's a lot of theoretical researches on the relationship between drama and the electronic media, especially the film and TV dramas. However, little attention has been paid to the communication of drama through internet. This thesis tries to analyze the phenomenon and do some theoretical research.The first part of the thesis analyzes the characteristics of the communication of drama through internet, such as interactive, individual, diverse, free and multimedia communication, etc.The second part analyzes the functions of the communication of drama through internet and investigates the roles internet technologies play in the communication of traditional drama.The third part analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the internet communication of drama and investigate the existing problems. The author realizes that internet is nothing but a communication tool and the characteristics of the drama itself is always the priority. The thesis finally gives constructive solutions to the difficulties of the drama websites.
