Confucianism as the guiding ideology of China's feudal society, guides the value trend of Chinese people,affects the way of Chinese people's thinking, regulates the behavior of Chinese people, shapes the character of the Chinese nation. Because of Confucianism's prominent historical status in the Chinese culture history, people always tend to connect rise and fall of the Chinese nation with the Confucian development. Ideological conservatism contributes the Chinese nation's brilliant to Confucianism, and requires to continuing to displaying the Confucian ideology; while ideological radicalism claims that Confucianism called the Chinese nation backward and wants to break up the link with the traditional thinking completely. And they advocate to developing science and democracy. And realize China's modernization. Then is Confucianism a living life or a deathly stiff the mummy? Is it the fragrant flower or poisonous weed? This requires us to analysis Confucian scientifically.This thesis explores the modern value of Confucianism from the core of Confucian thought -- "Jones saint Wang". The thesis composes of three parts: Part I, Through analyzing the theoretical origins of Jones saint Wang explores ideological character of"Jones saint Wang" Part II, concludes the historical evolution and development of "Jones saint Wang". Through the innovation and development of the periods of before Qin dynasty,the Song dynasty and the new Confucian,we can grasp the thought comprehensively and scientifically. Part III, through analyzing problems of "Jones saint Wang" and the reservation of is the new Confucian, we can explore non-contemporary values of this idea. Though reading this thesis the readers can have the right understanding and thoughts to the Confucianism, and understand the contemporary value of the Confucianism.I think this thesis has significant value. Now there still have different opinions about how to understand the Confucianism, and also have the different controversy and rifts. Combining with these controversies, I am founded on the knowledge I have controlled to inquiry into contemporary value of the Confucianism by myself thinking mode.
