"sanyanerpai" was a popular literary works, which displayed a rich and true Ming Dynasty society, and described all kinds of people such as bookmen , business people, officials, etc. Among those people, the bookmen were very special, because they were not only intelligent and capable, but also selfish and shrewd. They had a complicate and true character.With the development of commodity economy in the Ming Dynasty, the life situation and value idea of the bookmen had changed, which presented in the "sanyanerpai", the burgeoning townsfolk estate love to see and hear. And they also were the embodiment of the bookmen's ambit, which was apt to mundane, and their behavior, which inclined to townsfolk from the citizen's eyeshot. As a result, the bookmen s glory was still in existence although they had lost the traditional idealism spirit.
