The works of Chili from Wuhan are greatly favored by his readers while are hotly disputed by critics. Both Chili and the modern writer Zhang Ailing always focus on the mortal life. However, compared with Zhang, she is able to be more involved in this world and sweeten it. Zhang's books are usually classic and noble, yet Chi's writing is more worldly and vulgar. As a result, Chili's works are popular and widespread. They are the outcome when the literature approaches the ordinary life closer and closer. Her books are even similar to the so-called Parental Literature which has just risen in recent years. But when Chi's excessively vulgarized and limited by the market economy, her works have become more and more commercialized, which is an obstacle to her further improvements.
