As an American citizen of Chinese origin, the authoress Yan Geling is praised as one of the most powerful "new emigration writers" since the 1990s.The sphere of learning and readers begin to focus on her creation when Ye Geling has achieved great success in the literary circle. Nothing is more wonderful than her "new emigration novels" in all her novels.Although Yan Geling's "new emigration novels" are different from popularly commercial versions flattered by the entertainment world and the press, they are glorified widely because of the deeply cultural significance. Yan Geling has original views about latent humanity by researching psychoanalysis and psychology, so she analyzes complicated and subtle spirits of both foreign citizens of Chinese origin and residents under cultural background. The theme in her novels transcends the "homesickness" in fictions of some students studying abroad such as YuLiHua, NieHuaLing and BaiXianYong. She puts eastern and western culture to the view of the whole world, and treats differences between cultures with magnanimous ideas, then anticipates realizing equal dialogue and understandable communication. Furthermore, though Yan Geling lives in foreign land, she has a perfect command of narrative methods because she has been affected profoundly by Chinese traditions. She makes narrative methods demonstrate cultural expression and aesthetic implication. In a word, Yan Geling's "new emigration novels" stimulate more power of overseas Chinese literature and add strong color to "new emigration literature".
