Mass consumption society, has become a high-frequency word used to describethe present society. It is consumption that rebuilds the living space of human beings.When electron media enter the public lives, the culture conformation of the wholesociety has greatly transformed. Medium builds a surrealistic symbol world, wherethe elite culture is extraessential while the mass culture becomes the essential aspect.Moreover, the limit of popular culture and elegant culture disappears, and the artbecomes the consumable of the mass. Consumption and medium construct the worldtogether. TV media is the most influential mass media nowadays and make people in abrand-new world of TV programs. TV culture is regarded as the representation ofmass culture;as a result the development of TV fully reflects the culturetransformation of mass consumption society. Book-reading programs, which used toconsidered as representation of elite culture on TV, has now gradually quit the stage.On the contrary, newspaper-reading programs are now at the summit of its power. Thetwo types of programs share much similarity but entirely different fate. To get to thebottom of this phenomenon, we need to analyze how the public consumes the culturenow. In the mass consumption society, TV audiences long for information,entertainment, and being the principal part of consumption, which requires the TVpractitioner to build up bran-new spirit of communication and to meet the audiencedemands.
