| The paper is mainly through studying the theory of Semiotics, Linguistics, Semantics and Product Semantics, contrasting these disciplines theories with product design methods, finding out these disciplines contents that have enlightening significance to product design, constructs new theory construction of product design, and narrates in detail the guiding significance that product semantics is about product function, using way, mold-making language, and culture reflection, so could goes deep into explore the concrete applied method of product semantics to product design.The conclusion is that, by some means, product design is similar to coding process of sign system. "Signans" part of a product that is a sign system, is the product pattern which designers will design, and the "Signatum" which "Signans" points to, includes product function, using way these belong to extension Semantics, and includes emotion expression, culture reflection etc. these belong to intension Semantics. |
