The Nurture And Education Of Young Chinese Scientists In The Sino-Swedish Scientific Expedition To The North-Western Provinces Of China

From 1927 to 1933, The Sino-Swedish scientific Expedition to the North-Western Provinces of China, which was organized by the National Scientific Union and Dr. Sven Hedin, and led by Sven Hedin, explored the North-Western provinces of China. The expedition was cooperated by Sweden, German, Dane and Chinese for pure scientific purpose in meteorology, geology, geography, archaeology, paleontology, ethnology, and many other disciplines, and had made tremendous scientific achievements. It also had special significances in contributing to the Chinese academic and scientific education, such as meteorology.Due to the National Scientific Union's efforts, many young Chinese students were sent to the mission. They worked, learned and studied and had achieved excellent results, so they got opportunities for their future work. Many of them have been recommended to study abroad for further. These young members do well in subsequent scientific career to the Chinese academy and science. For example, some of them became the pioneers and the founders of the disciplines and trained many qualified personnel for Chinese science.The paper focuses on the aspects of training and educating personnel of the Scientific Expedition, and hopes to clarify the facts, to understand the special organization, and learns more from it's cultivation on historic significance.Based on the goals, the paper researches on these aspects, for example, how the Chinese young scholars and students were selected, how they worked together with the foreign experts, and what they had done after the expedition. As to finding the reasons, the paper analyses the causes to the success.
