When we imitate the fruits of the predecessor or the westerners, whether we will think about that the modern Chinese cultural history is one that unceasingly accepts and mixes the western culture. The embodiment expressionism drawing puts down the very roots in Chinese longstanding humanist background which emphasizes the traditional realism, the humanism (including works in philosophy and aesthetics, etc.) which imitates boldly the western achievements and formed in the "New Tide in 1985", and the fine tradition of style which are various from the theme to the technique and method. Though there is a concept of "embodiment expressionism" abroad, it is absurd and inappropriate to apply this concept without any adjustment onto the Chinese artists who are engaged in creative painting by the way of "embodiment expressionism". Up to now, there is no definition about the "embodiment expressionism drawing" by the criticism circle or researchers on the art history. It is merely a proper noun in the art circle. In this thesis, the drawing works with "embodiment expressionism" refers to those that watch closely the daily life and experiences as to their theme and contents, and as regards the expressive ways, that deliberately exaggerate or distort the shape of the objects and change the objects' color to emphasize the inner feeling and thoughts of the painter, but it is easy to identify the images of the objects, as they are between traditional realism and abstract. How to comment and regard the embodiment expression drawing? How to understand its nature and its importance in college teaching? Weshould face it and put it in the synchronic and diachronic researches on the modern history of Chinese cultural development. We can find its value only by analyzing the reform of China and the whole world, and the variation of nationals' psychological structure. At present, as there are not such works or papers as systematically discuss this subject in our country, I believe that this thesis has certain value and is useful for future reference.
