The paper thinks that the images of Englishman in LAOSHE novels embody LAOSHE' value of culture. LAOSHE finished the construction of perfect characters of nation by designing these images in his writings. The perfect characters are made up of five facts, which are cool reason, spirit of rigidity and going forward, pursuiting to freedom and independence, spirit of right and fair, pursuiting to knowledge and culture. He thought that the characters are important to improve a country or human being. LAOSHE wrote his first writing in England, obviously, LAOSHE and his writings were affected by English gentleman' spirit and English national character. LAOSHE was also very affected by traditional culture, as a young man, he had received "RUJIA" classic lessons such as (ZHOUYP) ^CHUNQIU)) etc, then he touched foreign culture. Because of receiving two kinds of cultures, LAOSHE and his novels embody two characters. The text finds the view of mix value between English gentleman spirit and Chinese traditional culture in LAOSHE' writings. Based on his attitude of English culture and perfect characters of nation which were constructed by LAOSHE, LAOSHE was viewed as a leader of Chinese culture at that time. According to the points of image theories on MOHA,BAROU etc in I image theories on comparative literature)) translated by MENGHUA, my paper thinks that LAOSHE provided an attitude of kindness and appreciation on Englishman and English culture by his writings. Meanwhile, he finished the construction of culture psychology by making a comparative analysis in his novels under his period background. The figures in his writings, such as Madam WENDU and her daughter, priest Yi couple and his son, his daughter, FUSHAN etc, have two characters of classic English culture and Chinese culture. LAOSHE expressed his feelings and attitude on England and Englishman. The figures have classic character of right and honest of Chinese "SHIDAFU" class who was affected by Chinese culture, meanwhile have the shortcoming such as self-closing, ignorant etc. for example LAOMA, TIANYOU who had a classic character of "CHUWOLAO". LAOSHE loved his country and people deeply, hoping that his country and people got stronger. He thought, what we could do was to mix the value between English gentleman spirit and traditional Chinese culture. LAOSHE loved the world, and had been affected by Christianity, and he had a aspiration of becoming a happy world. LAOSHE had worked in the church, and called himself "SHUSHEYU", expressing his expectation for the world. He encouraged the younger to study hard to be the men who thought about the world . LAOSHE loved his country, his people, then the world, and he hoped that people had perfect character , lived in the happy and peaceful condition. LAOSHE expressed his hope ,having the perfect character of nation, and told that mixing the Englishman' spirit, affected by English gentleman culture ,and Chinese spirit ,affected by Chinese traditional culture of "SHIDAFU" together is very important.
