The paper thinks that the images of Englishman in LAOSHE novels embody LAOSHE' value of culture. LAOSHE finished the construction of perfect characters of nation by designing these images in his writings. The perfect characters are made up of five facts, which are cool reason, spirit of rigidity and going forward, pursuiting to freedom and independence, spirit of right and fair, pursuiting to knowledge and culture. He thought that the characters are important to improve a country or human being. LAOSHE wrote his first writing in England, obviously, LAOSHE and his writings were affected by English gentleman' spirit and English national character. LAOSHE was also very affected by traditional culture, as a young man, he had received "RUJIA" classic lessons such as (ZHOUYP) ^CHUNQIU)) etc, then he touched foreign culture. Because of receiving two kinds of cultures, LAOSHE and his novels embody two characters.The text finds the view of mix value between English gentleman spirit and Chinese traditional culture in LAOSHE' writings.
