The Revelation Of The Theory Of Ideal Personality Of Confucianism Of Pre-Qin To The Construction Of Personality Of Harmonious Society

The Man of Virtue,the typical pattern of the theory of ideal personality of Confucianismof Pre-Qin, is a system of conceptions and values with the characteristic ofindependent ,strong and enterprising. The subject of the construction of Personality of theHarmonious Society is brought out under the condition in which modernity that has broughtthe liberation of individuals and the rupture of our tradition in modern society have caused thepersonality problems shown as the loss of the direction of values and the disorder of the valuesystem. It is unavoidable to pay attention to our tradition which has hidden in the mind of thewhole nation deeply when we cerebrate how to solve the personality problems caused bymodernity. The personality of the spirit of the Man of Virtue which have deep effects on thegeneration and development of nation psychology and nation morality is an importantmemory in the collective unconsciousness of the Chinese nation. Therefore, it must bemeaningful to explore its modern value to the construction of personality of the HarmoniousSociety.There are four parts in the whole thesis. Part one is the introduction which contains thedefinition of the basic concept, the related study in this field in both China and abroad, andthe meanings and values theoretically and practically. Part two analyses the origin of thetheory of ideal personality of Confucianism of Pre-Qin which are the fate view and the idea offate changing. The content of part three is that the Man of Virtue takes the perfect virtue andthe ceremony system as the basis theoretically and is characteristic with continuum,transcendentalism and aspiration. In part four, we analyze the revelations which arecontinuum of the Man of Virtue to the view of existence of personality in the HarmoniousSociety, transcendentalism of the Man of Virtue to the view of the conduct in society, and thevalue of the personality of the Man of Virtue to the public field of the Harmonious Society. Atlast, we clarify the basic attitude and standards of value when it comes to the Chinesetraditional thoughts.
