Chang'an's Temples in the Tang Dynasty not only prove Buddhism and Taoism's development, but also, as a platform, allow the religions to communicate with the earth, then having an effect on chang'an's political, economic and cultural situation.To illustrate the effect, the essay, under the direction of historical materialism and by the means of history, history geography & religion study, integrates religious and cities' development's study to discuss the building up, distribution of temples in chang'an.The essay consists of three chapters: prelude, main body, conclusion.Prelude: Highlight the significance of the topic selected from the academic and practical perspective, and briefly comment the present study situation on the concerned and the methods took.Main body includes three parts.Part â…  : Introduce the overall situation of Chang'an's temples in the Tang,by the means of showing Buddhism and Taoism's development. In different comparison, the Tang Dynasty witnessed much more temples were built in chang'an , especially in the flourishing phase.Part â…¡: Focus on features of distribution of Chang'an's temples, as what called 'dense in the middle and west of chang'an, unbalanced', and analyze the reasons through different angles, while pointing out the decorative functions of the temples. At the same time, analyze the mutual influence between the national capital and its temples, at the geographic level.Part â…¢: On the basis of the Chang'an's temples' development, further to demonstrate the temples' political, economic and cultural influence upon the national capital.Conclusion: Summarize the relation between Chang'an and its temples, discovering the nature of the relation, which lies in that magisterium is subdued to royalty and that religion serves society and in which "to use and to be used" exists complicatedly.
