Error analysis is an analytical tool that is used to identify linguistic errors learners make. This tool has been used to significantly change the teaching and learning of second language by having learners react to new linguistic phenomena and by providing useful insights about second language acquisition process. However, in the field of second language (L2) pedagogy, whether or not to correct learner errors in the classroom is a long-debated issue. Perspectives on the utility of error correction are differently proposed in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) theories. A growing number of researchers and teachers have begun to reevaluate the role error correction plays in the second language classroom, and almost all results and arguments favor error correction in L2 learning. Yet, how do EFL teachers respond to their adult learners' errors in oral English class? What are EFL learners' attitudes toward error correction? Are EFL teachers' error correction strategies appropriate to their learners' preferences? In what way can EFL teachers' error correction facilitates oral English learning? This study is designed to answer these questions in an oral English teaching environment. Thus have examined teachers' error correction strategies in oral English teaching lessons and explored students' attitudes toward every strategies teacher used. Results indicate that students only favor some ways of the error correction. Thus not all the error correction are necessary for teachers, errors should be corrected according to the error types.
